Large Antique Danish Oak Bureau.
This beautifully rustic oak bureau was made in Denmark in the late 1800s. It certainly is one of the first non mid century Danish pieces I have had in, but is still a thing of great beauty.
My father bought it about 10 years ago and it was missing all the handles which have been replaced with antique style brass cup handles. He sanded it back from a dark finish and it has since been waxed and polished. It’s complete with original makers receipt nailed to the back, “Ryde” Denmark.
It’s constructed of solid oak and has some lovely figured grain. It has lots of small warps, knocks and marks but these I feel only add character and don’t detract from the beauty of it.
It’s definitely a great storage piece with 3 large drawers, 1 narrow drawer to the front and 11 small internal drawers. Makes a great workspace too with a large drop down desk.
It measures:
4ft wide, 22” deep, and 44” tall. The desk part is 24.5” deep and the total depth with the desk open is 3ft.

National delivery is available via trusted courier for approx £100 (excludes Highlands and Islands) although you will have to help at your end to get it into your home.
