Stunning Antique Edwardian Amberg Oak Filing Cabinet With Roll Top Doors.
This incredible Edwardian filing cabinet dates from around 1910 and was made by “Amberg File and Index Company” in London.
It’s makes a beautiful storage option for the home, shop or office with a large cabinet to the bottom and 8 removable filing drawers (fit A4) to the top part.
It’s constructed of solid oak and is complete with 6 of the original hand painted drawer labels (including the “National Commercial Temperance League”) and some of the original paper file dividers.
It was used in a prop for the Aidensfield Post Office in ITV’s Heartbeat.
It has a beautiful naturally aged patina. Lots of small knocks and marks but nothing that doesn’t add character. There are no major structural issues with this. It does have a split in the oak where the top sits on the base, but this doesn’t affect its use and would be easy to repair if required. There is no signs of woodwork and the doors and drawers all move freely.

5ft tall, 17.5” deep and 33.25” wide
