Gorgeous Rustic Antique Pine Blanket Chest/Trunk
This stunning old trunk dates from around 1890 and is brimming with character and rustic charm.
It’s been stripped back to remove the rather shabby old finish. It has then been given three precautionary doses of woodworm treatment. It does have lots of small worm holes and tracks although there were no signs of any live worm. The box is in good solid condition. Lovely dovetailed construction and original hardware.
I have then polished it in a blend of waxes to restore some of its patina, highlight the many little knocks and marks, and to give it a nice sheen.
It makes a great storage option for most rooms of the house, and it’s battered look genuinely gives this a character and feel all of its own.
