Superb Large Extending Mid Century Round Danish Rosewood Extending Dining Table.
This stunning extending dining table was made in Denmark around 1960 and is beautifully designed with elegant slender legs and simplistic mid century styling. The real feature is the lovely patterned grain of the Brazilian rosewood veneers used.
I believe this to be designed by Niels Koefoed for Hornslet Mobler
It has been fully sanded back to 240 grit giving a lovely smooth finish. It has then been given 3 coats of very hard wearing OSMO wax oil for long lasting protection and a satin wax effect sheen.
There are a few small marks but nothing particularly noticeable. The main one being on one of the extension leaves which has previously been sanded through the veneer. This has been blended in with stain and isn’t too noticeable when in use (see photos). It is in excellent structural condition with no wobbles, etc.
The table measures 120cm in diameter when stored (seating 4) but has two extension leaves increasing the length to either 180cm (seating 6) or 240cm (seating 8 to 10).
The legs are attached with bolts as are removable to help get it into your property.
