Fabulous original 1950s adjustable floor lamp with swing arm and rotating head/shade.
This came from the home of a lady who had bought this new in 1958 (together with the Ernest Race chairs and Robin Day furniture I also have listed). I am unsure of the maker but the closest I can find online is attributed to Guiseppe Ostini. If any one can identify the maker I would be very grateful.
It’s a fabulous design with a very slender shaft, and very nice quality brass fixings and swing arm. The black shade has a push button and is white on the inside. The lamp is fully adjustable at the swing arm and rotating head which. The swing arm can also be extended. The base is fitted with cast iron.
It’s in very good working order and cosmetic condition. A few light marks on the base. A small mark on the inside of the shade and a small fingerprint on gloss paint on the outside of the shade (which may clean off).
The base measures 26cm and diameter and the shade diameter at the rim is 28.5cm. I haven’t measured the height as it’s adjustable, but fully extended straight up would be well over 2m.
Collection in person welcome or I can arrange national delivery via my specialist furniture courier for approximately £65 (excluding Highlands and Islands).
