This beautiful mid century modern G Plan sideboard was designed by VB Wilkins as part of the Fresco range and started life as the base of a Welsh dresser.
It’s the perfect piece for storage and is a nice compact size too. It has 3 cupboards (2 have adjustable shelves) and three sizeable drawers. The central one is lined in purple fabric and fitted with removable cutlery dividers.
When it came to me it was badly sun faded and marked. I have stripped it back, re-stained and then re-finished in three thin coats off varnish before giving it a wax polish. I have removed the original plinth and added good quality solid beech legs.
It has a few minor blemishes I was unable to remove on the top (where the dresser top used to sit - see photos) but this is genuinely not to noticeable when in use.
It measures:
4ft 8” wide, 17.5” deep and 34” tall.
