1980 paperback edition of The Iron Man originally published in 1968 and written by Ted Hughes.
It comes with a postacard inside, sent by Hughes to “Andrew Leigh and Class 1S, Wideopen Middle School”. The postcard is hand written and has Hughes letterhead. It thanks the class for their thoughts on the book. I can’t quite make out the postmark but it appears to be 1988.
The book itself is in excellent condition and has been kept in a plastic wallet. It does have the previous owners name written on the inside cover, and a little wear but it is intact and has no major flaws.
Edward James "Ted" Hughes OM OBE FRSL (17 August 1930 – 28 October 1998)[1] was an English poet, translator, and children's writer. Critics frequently rank him as one of the best poets of his generation and one of the twentieth century's greatest writers. He was appointed Poet Laureate in 1984 and held the office until his death. In 2008, The Times ranked Hughes fourth on its list of "The 50 greatest British writers since 1945".
