Very unusual UK 2nd pressing of the Beatles second LP, “With The Beatles”
1N/1N matrix endings and MKT tax code on centre label.
The sleeve has the incorrectly labelled “Gotta” but this has been corrected on the labels, as has the “Jobete” credit for money which has been corrected to “Dominion/Belinda” typical of 2nd pressings.
What isn’t typical however is the MKT tax code and 1N matrix endings, suggesting this is an early 2nd press. The other thing that stands out with this copy is that ITS LOUD!!! In fact very loud. Many of my mono pressings have loud audio but this seems to be a very loud pressing with the volume set low.
Matrix numbers/mothers/stampers:
Side 1: XEX 447-1N / 10 / GTR
Side 2: XEX 448-1N / 17 / RAA
Condition:
Vinyl - The Vinyl grades as EX. It has a only few very light scuffs and some fine paper scuffs when viewed under strong light. It plays great however with virtually no deterioration in sound that I could determine. The slightest of crackles in the space between some tracks, but these are genuinely very quiet and barely noticeable and cannot be heard at all when the music plays. On the whole it plays great. No pops, sticks, jumps, clicks or crackle. Really nice playing copy.
Outer sleeve - EX - the sleeve has very minor age related discolouration and a few laminate crinkles. There are no other issues. The spine is clear, no rips, tears, creases, writing, ring wear or edge wear. (See photos)
Comes with original Emitex inner sleeve which is also EX.
Overall this is a superb playable 2nd pressing dating from December 1963. It plays with great audio, looks great and is unusual in that it has the 1N/1N matrix endings, MKT tax code and very loud audio.
Item will be very carefully packaged before shipping using strong cruciform mailers.
